- Reviewed in the United States on February 16, 2025Got this as a Valentine's Day present to myself, and got around to watching it tonight. It's the first three Digimon films, uncut, and re-dubbed with the entire surviving English cast.
Also included, for those absolutely nostalgic, is the American cut from 2000 which mashed all three films together into one incoherent plot.
Dialogue has been re-dubbed, but so much of the English writing from 2000 is unchanged, save for the mentions of Willis being removed from Our War Game, and not to mention Kari no longer narrating every freaking thing. Part of me wanted to be surprised, but to be perfectly fair, it was very, very solid writing, right up until the third film.
It leads me to the same verdict that many other fans, and even Fox Kids dubbing director Jeff Nimoy had after preview screenings in 2000:
The third film, Hurricane Touchdown, was absolutely the fatal weak point, and was included mainly due to Haim Saban's repeated insistence.
Cutting the third film would have left us with a runtime barely over 61 minutes, but I really feel that would have been acceptable, because it really, truly derailed the American release 25 years ago. Even standalone, I recall Hurricane Touchdown was largely panned over in Japan as well.
I would honestly change only one thing for this re-release; I would have included Udi Harpaz's Saban-commissioned musical score; it was truly a treat for the ears, and this may be nostalgia talking, but it's better than what was in original sub.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 21, 2025Brought me back to my childhood. Warm and friendly. At one point 10 years ago I had some mid-quality ports on a hard drive from a Bittorrent because these are so insanely expensive and difficult to find in the USA. If that last sentence irks you, it probably should, because my ISP almost fined me for the habit.
That being said, I've watched all the original Japanese cuts, yet to watch the remastered Digimon Movie and New English Dub.
Thoughts on Japanese cuts: I only discerned a slight loss/clipping in audio in "01 Digimon Adventure" at the beginning when the Bolero is playing, although I am not sure if that is from the source or some thing after the source (like encryption/encoding/writing etc).
That being said I love this movie and all of them. They are so cute and charming and friendly and seeing theme in the original Japanese is an amazing moment. Adventure 02 has a lot more content than the American version, and might take a little warming up, but I love the soundtrack and Cherubimon scenes are far more potent
The audio is crisp and clean and Hosoda Mamoru has an incredible style, stuck with a lot of 90's kids.
Also, Hurricane Touchdown's title is confusing as it appears to be composed of two parts: the second being called "Golden Digimentals!!". Outside the USA, intermissions half-way into a movie are common, and so the before-mentioned name is this specific second part. Thus the single movie itself has one name composed of two sub-names. ;)
I highly recommend this. Thank you so much for this!!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 10, 2025Loved digimon as a kid growing up and when I heard about the blu ray season 1,2 and now the movie and them staying true to the original English dubs and including the OG music, I had to grab them and the team put so much love and attention to these Blu-ray’s to give the fans a great viewing experience!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 18, 2024This film collection, even on the factor of one film alone, is everything the fans could have been hoping for. An overwhelming quantity of returning cast means you get to re-experience the film as intended but not without the voices you remember. The script is not here to win anyone BUT the fans over, but that is perfectly fine as the ORIGINAL edited version of the American release was included as well, so parents looking for a decent film for their kids to watch albeit probably with poor informing of the premise and characters will still be able to give them a more accessible version of the movies.
And most important of all, the deliciously full widescreen expertly restored quality of the film is just impeccable. It’s impossible to really praise it sufficiently without seeing it for yourself, but the animation quality is stellar and it’s CGI has aged like a fine wine.
For diehard fans of the franchise this is absolutely a must buy and delivered on all expectations. And with the original cut included, it makes for a perfectly fine option as well. Please buy this movie so we can get the rest recut and rereleased.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 23, 2025Having all the options in one blue ray is a real special treat! Being able to watch all the movies as their original format as well as dubbed with the original cast was outstanding! I would say I’m too used to the English’s soundtrack but still enjoyed it nonetheless!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 9, 2025My son saw Digimon the Movie when he was 14 at the theater and got it on VHS when it released. He wanted this set for Christmas and loved how it had the original theatrical movie, but also had new dubs for all three full length movies. The inclusion of the original Japanese versions with subtitles. He can't stop raving about a Hurricane Touchdown having a Gummymon.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 26, 2024I don't know what's enjoyable...Digimon the first movie takes place from when the digidestined from Japan and Willis from American first encountered a digimon. 8 years later, Izzy, Tai, Matt, and TK along with their digimon battle Diaboramon on line after Willis tried to create a digimon online. Present time for the digidestined, TK, Kari, Yoli, Davis, Willis, and Cody do battle with Cocomon. Movie is full of action.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 21, 2025Gives an upgrade to the original while also adapting a truer sense of story. I wish they had made a version with the American music and told the truer stories. Also the Angela Anconda scene before the movie is finally gone!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love Digimon
I'll admit, when it originally came to cinemas, I didn't go to see it because I was a Pokémon fan, but I grew into Digimon. I do love the film and the humour of it, but then again, I am a big child and still have the same interests I had when I was younger. I can't fault the film, although it would've been nice to have scenes cut out from the English dub as well as Japanese dubbing and subtitles. If you watch the Japanese AND the English, you'll realise they're very different films due to what's been cut out and what the Japanese actually say. I'd of liked to have had both just to see the comparison, but I can see why it wasn't included. The Japanese version is much darker (Tai and Kari's dad is an alcoholic that comes home drunk late at night?). Over all, I do love this film, and so does my friend, hence why I bought two copies!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great movie
I bought this for my husband as he never got to watch it when he was a child. Let's just say that he was a very happy man child the day that it arrived and he thoroughly enjoyed watching the movie even with the terrible Angela anaconda opening. All in all a great purchase. Was sold as used good condition and I think that it was excellent it just had a few fingerprint smudges on the disk.
