- Reviewed in the United States on February 16, 2016I rarely give excellent reviews, but I feel obliged to give an A to A+ Rating for this Movie.
Pros
1) Adheres or gives homage to the Original Mission Impossible TV series, possibly setting a new bar. The initial one to three years of the Mission Impossible TV Series style seemed to focus towards the best clothing worn during the mid 1960's. Albeit, no classical music enthusiast or fan of vinyl records is going to enjoy the opening scenes. Absolutely horrid, however plausible introduction.
2) Seems to have a better balance of plot versus action. Personally, I enjoyed the balance (of good plot to little violence ratio) of the first one to three years of the Original Mission Impossible TV series.
3) If you've watched the first one to three years of the Original Mission Impossible TV series, you'll notice a less than perfect final product, and yet the series was a success. This Movie version gives a similar more balanced and sometimes more realistic view versus unrealistic scenarios, versus the previous Mission Impossible Movie versions released by Mr. Tom Cruise. (ie. Similar well balanced acting/scenarios, similar to the Original Mission Impossible TV series.)
4) The plot was well written. The plot looks to likely have had many rewrites, indicative of good talent or good writing. Again, reminiscent of the Original Mission Impossible TV series.
5) The digital aerial photography is absolutely stunning, depicting the awesome detail of the awe inspiring scenery.
6) Had few to no problems using Open Source (alongside some proprietary software) tools for playback.
Cons
1) If you're older and drink a beer, or have hungry pets around, you're going to want an intermission.
2) Violence. (Funny how once good acting or an acting series starts to depict violence, it's difficult to avoid and maintain viewers interest without increasing the violence within later series or later acts.)
I think Mr. Greg Morris would have given a more favorable review of this Movie Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation. This Movie almost tended to down-play the action scenes by adding more unpredictable action, while increasing the focus upon the plot. Regardless, I think any Movie with a good plot, does not need to rely on effects. I'm looking forward to the next Mission Impossible Movies!
2016.02.18 14:43 EST: Just watched the producer notes audio version, and found the information interesting. I too agree the digital aerial photography is absolutely stunning depicting the awesome detail of the awe inspiring scenery. And the beginning and ending credits really put the icing on the cake. And the fact the beautiful girl drove away with only a hug. Just really too many "And's" here, and really the entire Movie was just phenomenal.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 25, 2023If you're a fan of the Mission: Impossible franchise, you won't be disappointed by the latest installment, Rogue Nation. Tom Cruise delivers another outstanding performance as Ethan Hunt, a skilled and daring agent who is once again tasked with saving the world from impending doom.
The action sequences in this movie are some of the most impressive I've ever seen. From the heart-pumping opening scene to the breathtaking motorcycle chase through the streets of Morocco, Rogue Nation is a non-stop thrill ride that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The stunts are executed flawlessly, and the cinematography is stunning, making for a truly immersive and exciting experience.
The supporting cast also delivers stellar performances. Rebecca Ferguson is a standout as Ilsa Faust, a British agent who teams up with Ethan and proves to be just as capable and cunning as he is. Simon Pegg provides some much-needed comic relief as Benji, Ethan's loyal and nerdy tech expert, and Ving Rhames returns as Luther, Ethan's trusted ally.
The plot of Rogue Nation is complex and keeps you guessing until the very end. The film is full of twists and turns, making it impossible to predict what will happen next. The script is smart and engaging, and the dialogue is snappy and witty.
If you're looking for an action-packed movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat, Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation is a must-see. The Blu-ray edition features stunning visuals and crisp sound, making for a truly immersive viewing experience. So, grab some popcorn and get ready for an unforgettable ride.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 22, 2024It was entertaining just like every one before and after. Nothing to say really, lol.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 25, 2016I like having these types of movies on in the background while cooking, working around the house, etc. Being something like the fifth MI movie, ya know what you are getting into and it has the essentials: action, intrigue and deny that you ever exist. I've always thought that these movies also had a nice bit of dry humor / sarcasm and they are not gore-centric. I don't have a problem with high body counts; but, those are not the kind of movies that I want on while eating or entertaining. Naturally, I bought this movie about a week before it started streaming on Amazon Prime for free.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 24, 2016I think this is one of the best Mission Impossible movie he has put out there and I have seen them all. The plot was good and the acting as well. I know Tom Cruise does all is on stunts, I don't know if he has a God complex or a Death wish, either way I am all end. I especially like this one because the female lead was a ball buster. I believe Tom Cruise has always been very generous with his females leads from what I have seen of his movies in which he has some controlled and you can tell he wants to put a product out there that his audience will appreciate. On so many levels I really enjoyed this movie
- Reviewed in the United States on December 26, 2016Excellent movie, best of Tom Cruise. I hope Rebecca Ferguson stays on the cast, permanently. She is purely excellent opposite Tom! The other actors are excellent also!! So far love this franchise! It's funny, any reviews here less then 4 stars you have to ask yourself, why these people watch such a good movie if they don't like it!! Go somewhere else, if you don't appreciate a good movie! Wish this franchise could have started sooner with Tom, because at his age, how long can he do such action packed Movies? Would be sad when they stop this series! To bad we have to wait so long for next one to come out-Hope they keep Rebecca Ferguson please!!!!!
