    I had to buy this one since references are made in Godzilla, King of the Monsters. The movie, Godzilla 2014 was a good movie but Godzilla King of the Monsters is a great movie! I have seen this one 12 times. I grew up watching the Saturday night 'Creature feature' movies, Godzilla was my fav. I think I have mentioned this prior to this. I did notice that the 'official reviewer' for Amazon got some facts completely wrong. The Japanese created the Godzilla movie in 1954 to show that he was a punishment for the Japanese invasion of Korea, China and all Pacific Basin countries. Godzilla awaken to bring sorrow and downright terror to the Japanese islands for aggressive war against other nations and people. Now in these two films, we see Godzilla in San Fransisco, Honolulu and Boston chasing down other monsters. Is he trying to tell us something here in the states?

    Grew up on the original godzilla, the 1998 godzilla was a American remake that Asian did not like, it had great visual effect but never sold me it was godzilla, this version it is finally godzilla glade I bought this one.

    I bought this DVD because I’d seen the movie and actually enjoyed it for what it was—awesome monster fights and CGI! lol However, that was as a rental through Comcast. It was always a rather dark film (as in brightness), like many modern movies are, I assume to hide dodgy CGI. But the actual DVD is nearly unwatchable, even in my dim living room! I could barely see anything on the screen! I gave up, angry, and stopped the movie. I was pretty ticked off, because I bought this so I could watch it anytime, obviously. Grrr! Also, there were at least FOUR PREVIEWS for other movies on this thing! WTH??? I’m in my 40’s, so maybe this is a new thing with DVD’s, but the last thing I want is to see MULTIPLE previews on a disc in my home.

    To reiterate, the movie itself isn’t the problem. I enjoyed the cool looking monsters, etc. But the disc itself completely sucks, especially with the lack of brightness. I’m highly disappointed. (Oh, and I have a fairly expensive Samsung tv, so I don’t think that was the problem.) Fair warning to any potential buyers—this might be too dark for you to see it, as well. Thanks for letting me share.

    Do not waste your money on this. Unless you can speak either German, Dutch or Japanese. Only 3 of the 12 discs had English dubbing and NONE had English subtitles.
