Spoilers: A nice modern RomCom with a believable storyline — Christina Ricci is sincere and sweet as a single NYC mom who meets a nice guy and falls In love. Their quickie romance becomes more serious when Ricci becomes pregnant after their first date. As someone who knows personally a friend who happened to become pregnant (after two weeks of dating) and engaged (and subsequently broken up) -the story is a reflection of modern internet romance gone awry and a woman falling for a guy with issues with commitment and long haul love. Though the characters seem to have dramatic personality changes at the end — there are some cute scenes and witty one-liners. Strange and slightly abrupt ending but thoughtful dialogue and some funny moments.

"Let's make a romcom about two people with no self-worth or boundaries who ignore every red flag... except instead of being in their twenties, they're middle aged!"

Barf. The man manipulates her with his manic pixie deadbeat act, and she..... falls for it. Over and over.

It was hard to keep watching after she called him a sociopath and then made out with him in the next scene (grow up, woman!).

Harder after he pressures her to meet her kids when she and they aren't ready (something that can damage a parent-child relationship forever).

Still harder after she feels the need to defend her right to -not- have an abortion (apparently you have to have an abortion to prove you're pro-choice? So where does the choice come in?).

I finally quit for good when he implies that she isn't a good role model to her kids. That was a whole 32 minutes in.

If this were a movie about a woman who gets her own back after being steadily worn down by a malignant narcissist, then that would be something. Unfortunately, I gather that's not the case.

Show this to your teenagers to teach them about toxic relationships and red flags.

3.5 I think a lot of people were disappointed in the movie, especially the end. I can totally get that. However, I found it refreshing because it wasn't some super unbelievable, stupid storyline. I found it to be very authentic. Maybe that's why it wasn't very likeable to a lot of people... Such a realistic story, no Hollywood ending. The unrealistic part was there was only one scene where her kids were getting out of control, fighting, getting on the adults nerves and causing friction between them. There would be a lot more of that going on in real life. Lol.

It’s not a full length film, and even thought it’s dark and honest, it felt frustrating for its cost that it wasn’t long enough.

Not really sure what the point of most of this movie was... The best friend was horrible, pushing abortion with out really having a reason, the leading man was wishy washy at best and I was disappointed in Christina Ricci's acting. I finished it, but it was not easy to get through, as it jumped all over the place with mini stories of mistakes, ex's, kids and bad friendships.

I have watched this movie a gazillion times! I love them! What can I say? They fall in love, they live life, they break up. watch it. It has a realistic feel to me, so I keep going back...

I think the movie summary should've included that the male lead has a mental health condition, because it seemed like he might be on the spectrum.

The first 20 minutes or so of the movie was extremely promising, full of cutesy lovey dovey stuff that gets your hopes up. However, the movie never fleshes out any characters enough for the audience to care about any of them... why is she divorced? Why doesn't Benjamin talk to his family? Who was the other girl? What's the story of the best friend? You'll never get any of that answered because the whole movie is a touch and go. All for what? An abrupt ending that literally is typed out on a your screen. This tells me that the writer ran out of time, finances, or couldn't think about how to actually end the movie practically... Don't waste your time, not worth it.
