I still can't figure out how our illustrious Motion Picture Academy passed on this movie, but it easily tops my list from the past year.
I have a feeling that this is a deep dark satire, for some reason. Anyone else agree?
Lior Ashkenazi is an amazing actor, as evidenced by his performances in "Footnote", and especially one of the other most overlooked movies "Norman: The Moderate Rise and Tragic Fall of a New York Fixer".
As far as "Norman" is concerned Richard Gere gives the performance of his life!
Isreal has produced some of the greatest cinema in recent history!

It's heavy, but beautifully shot. Great performances by all involved. I'd definitely watch a second time.

The best part of the movie is the raffle dance that could be seen in the preview. Some events are not possible in real life. The actors are really good.
