    it was a GOOD MOVIE
  • Reviewed in the United States on May 21, 2020
I watched this film one night when I was dealing with insomnia. It was so bad that it couldn’t even put me to sleep. The disaster is a combination of volcano eruptions and earthquakes. All of these were literally ending life in Europe.

Without a doubt, this is the worst movie I have ever seen. The script is silly. The directing is chaotic. The special effects could never have been called “special;” they were simply awful. And, finally, the acting couldn’t even come up to expectations of what might be a skit performed by adolescents at summer camp. I can only assume the performers were folks selected at random from a telephone book.

Rating it as one star is a gift too high.

If you like silly Asylum movies...this one's for you. If you like to nit pick every single disaster movie...why watch it? I myself like disaster movies and I like silly asylum films. I am a trained scientist and I love to get away from the numbers and boring stuff. They make great movies for that. The dumber the better. Sometimes, they are better then the original dumb disaster films they spoof. So, ologist's beware. It is just a great load of hooey to watch. The rest of you...boo hoo, Lighten up. Have some fun. When I see Asylum Productions,, I pop the corn and snuggle in. I can't wait for the great ride of poking fun at the stupidity at man.

one of the movies which can be classic as realty very very strong

I give this 2 stars as my 8th Grader and I had such a good time ripping it. I do give it 5 stars in the categories of predictability and stupiditiy. I won't complain about the actors as they did fine with the garbage they were handed. Basically bro and sis are in Paris waiting for dad and their new step-mom while volcanic eruptions are causing a new ice age. When dad and step-mom are grounded Britain, they get a car and dash through the Chunnel. In case you didn't guess it, Chunnel floods and they miraculously outrun the flood into France. Bro spends a lot of time getting knocked down and hitting his head but manages to avoid injury, including when he was electrocuted. When a giant hail stone is falling toward bro in his first of many fall-and-can't-get-up scenes, Sis manages to get to him in time to kick the giant hail stone away--with no injury to her foot (must have been protected by those expensive summer shoes with no socks. Sis gets trapped under a light, wooden bookshelf my 8th Grader could have lifted with one arm but Bro can't even budge it. He has to search for a steel pipe for leverage. Sis and another young lady run around in the freezing weather in tight fitting summer clothes. They had coats for a short time but robbers took the coats, apparently, so the ladies could show off their figures for the rest of the movie. They manage to avoid hypothermia, frostbite and generally being turned into human popsicles when that is what would have happened (for as cold as it was supposed to be, not one scene of frosty breath). It was also pretty silly having bro, sis and other young lady slide down a steel cable from the Eifel Tower into a helicopter while somehow avoiding the rotors. Don't look too close or you'll see the traffic in the background although Paris is supposed to largely abandoned or the lack of snow when there should be inches of it. And on and on and on. I only finished the movie as my kid and I were having such a terrific time making fun of what I would call complete and utter nonsense.

Even though this is like many that are being put out right now, I found the acting above average and the slant intriguing. Better than average for the ones coming out in this genre.

Predictable, bad special effects, but likeable characters help to make this an enjoyable film if you have a good sense of humor and can enjoy making fun of it as you go along.

We received it very quickly and the movie is a very good movie. There was another movie I had ordered that was something like this.

3.0 out of 5 stars Only as cold as snow

Don't be fooled by the title. The coldest it gets is a covering of snow. i.e. Minus 2. But having said that I did enjoy it. It is a B movie when all said and done. B being for bad I guess, but it was watchable and in places did have me on the end of my sofa.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Little Bit of Everything
Reviewed in Canada on July 19, 2015
This is a very entertaining 90 minutes of disaster, with comedy, drama, action, and nice visual effects.
I have been trying to decide what to title this: We All Fall Down, comes to mind. One of the lead characters, Ryan, and his sister, Tamara. took turns falling down and yelling about the other one to either leave them, or "no, no, don't leave me".
This movie has lots of great news footage of volcanos, thunderstorms, and other disasters. The snow looked very real. People rubbing their hands together to get warm when no steam came from their breathing left one sitting there. That's all: just sitting there.
Another title I thought of was: Where are all the People?. These two young adults are running through empty streets in downtown Paris with an occasional run-in with someone to interact with or get hit by a giant hail ball. Yes, ball. It is the size of a soccer ball and Tamara kicks it away.
They never get scratched or bloody or disheveled. Except for a torn knee area in her Bluejeans.
Another title: Excuse me Earthquake, I'm Talking Here. I noticed that the earthquake only did it's thing when the actors weren't talking. I am guessing that there was too much crammed into one little movie, which does make it interesting to watch. Hence, my final choice for a title: A Little Bit of Everything.
For an Asylum film, this is very tame stuff. That is good to experience for a change. But watch out for the trailers: scary stuff.
