Bo Martyn was born Joanna Justyna Martynowska on the island of Swinoujscie, Poland to Bozena Kepa and Sylwester Martynowski. She moved to Canada with her family at the age of three. Bo grew up in parts of Mississauga and Toronto, attending both English and French speaking elementary schools before majoring in Psychology at York University and later improv at The Second City, Toronto.
