Filipe Costa was born in Coimbra in 1980. From 1998 to 2002 he works at Rádio Universidade de Coimbra (RUC - a College Radio) as a broadcaster and audio producer. In 1999 he joins the college theatre group "Teatro dos Estudantes da Universidade de Coimbra" (TEUC), where he performs in Chekhov's "Uncle Vanya", directed by Rogério de Carvalho and in Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream", directed by Antônio Mercado. In 2006 he finishes his degree in "Theatre and Education" in Coimbra. During his graduation, he performs as Alexander Khlestakov in Gogol's "The Government's Inspector", directed by Clóvis Levy and as Peer Gynt in Ibsen's "Peer Gynt", directed by Antônio Mercado. His professional debut is marked by his appearence in Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar", directed by Luís Miguel Cintra, in a joint venture by Teatro da Cornucópia and Teatro Municipal São Luiz.
