Grigori Gaj was a Russian actor of a special talent for playing sophisticated characters in stage and in film. During the 1950s-1970s he was a permanent member of the legendary troupe of Bolshoi Drama Theatre (BDT) in St. Petersburg (Leningrad). Gaj made a stage career under directorship of Georgi Tovstonogov at the BDT.
