Maridi Jooste is a South African writer/director/actress. She was born as Dina Maria Jooste on 9 February 1984 in Upington and spent the early part of her life on a grape farm near the Orange River. Maridi was awarded the BDramHons degree at Stellenbosch University, specializing in Playwriting and Directing. This gave her the opportunity to direct her own plays. Her passion for characters inspired her to return to University to study Psychology where she completed the BAPsychHons degree, writing her thesis on Intimate Relationships in low Income Societies from a Feministic Perspective.
