Learnt to speak English from watching iconic American tv shows from the sixties and seventies, like The Man From Uncle, Batman, Land Of The Giants, and Lost In Space & Star Trek. Robert moved to London, UK, in 1986, working back stage in several theatres in the West End, as well as Assistant Stage Manager at the Royal Albert Hall during and after the Proms, before starting his formal training as an actor at the London Academy Music and Dramatic Art in '86, graduating with distinction in 1989. Within weeks of graduating he was treading the boards, cutting his theatrical teeth in repertory at the Derby Playhouse.
