Born August 12 in New York but raised in California. Valerie's father, Alan Landsburg, was the producer for the TV Series Gimme a Break! (1981). Her mother, Sally Landsburg (a psychologist), is the author of the book "The Age of Taboo". Valerie performed in more that 80 episodes of Fame (1982), beating out Madonna for her role as "Doris Rene Schwartz".
